Elementary Classroom Teacher, Dual Language Immersion Program (Spanish) •BCLAD required •

Desired Qualifications :

• Applicants should be fluent in Spanish reading, writing, and speaking. Must be an excellent model in both Spanish and English
• Will be willing to assist with the planning and development of the dual immersion program including curriculum development and community outreach
• Ability to involve parents and community members in student learning
• Knowledge of early childhood education
• Knowledge of educational reform, development of curriculum and instruction, professional development and the collaborative planning process
• Knowledge of CA's adopted Common Cores and English Language Development standards
• An understanding of the principles of Dual Immersion and the development of the partner language (Spanish)
• Successful experience as a classroom teacher ideally in a dual immersion program
• Proficiency in data analysis and data-driven instruction
• Effective collaboration skills and ability to work within a team-teaching environment
• Ability to be adaptable within a culture of change and transition
• Willingness to continue to seek professional development and apply new learning
• Knowledge and support of the district priorities
• Ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships within the district, teachers, students, parents, and community
• Must have good communication skills in oral and written form; and maintain sensitivity to ethnic, cultural, religious, sexual orientation and other differencesProfessional Requirements : California Multiple Subject credential required authorizing service in an elementary school. BCLAD in Spanish is preferred.CBEST transcript if newly hired in the State of California or if no public school employment within the last 39 calendar months in a California public school.Salary : Appropriate placement on current Teachers' Salary Schedule.
