DEFINITION: Under the direction of the assigned Administrator or Supervisor, patrol and supervises campus activities at the District's elementary and secondary-level school campus, parking lot, and other school facility areas to ensure the well-being and safety of students, staff and visitors in non-classroom activities; ensure student compliance with school and District rules and procedures; promote safety intervention and restorative practices; enforce traffic and parking regulations; and perform other job-related duties as assigned and/or required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: One year of experience working with adolescent-age students performing supervision, security, and control services. Recent job-related experience within the last five years is required. EDUCATION: Verification of a High School diploma, a GED certificate, or a higher degree, supplemented by training or coursework in behavior modification techniques, student supervision, or a closely related field will be required at time of hire.

A COMPLETE EDJOIN APPLICATION WILL CONSIST OF THE FOLLOWING LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certificate Copy (Must satisfactorily complete the School Security Officer Training (SB 390) or Campus Law Enforcement Course (PC 832(g) and EC 38001.5. )
  • Certification (Must satisfactorily complete the POST LEVEL II (Penal Code, Section 832) training course)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (Verification of a current First Aid certificate and a current CPR certificate issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association is required at time of employment and must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.)
  • Driver's License Copy (Verification of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's license.)
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two (2) Letters are required. All letters MUST be SIGNED and DATED within the last two years (typed or electronic signatures will not be accepted.)
  • Resume

FOREIGN TRANSCRIPT EVALUATION Individuals who have completed course work at an institution in a country other than the United States must obtain a complete evaluation of foreign transcripts/degrees, prior to applying for a position, and attach a copy to the application electronically. The foreign transcripts must be evaluated by one of the approved organizations, listed on the Rialto Unified School District website, in order to be accepted. These organizations are private enterprises who charge a fee for their services. Individuals pursuing a foreign transcript evaluation must follow the procedures outlined by the organization providing the evaluation. In all instances, original, official documentation will be required when requesting the evaluation. Note: To obtain examination credits, veterans must electronically attach a copy of a DD214 (proof of service and/or disability) verification to the application. Note: Disabled applicants may request reasonable accommodation in regard to testing procedures. Please do so prior to the closing date by calling (909) 820-7700, extension 2400. Note: Applicants who have previously passed the written examination for this position, and do not wish to retest, MUST submit a copy of their passing score e-mail notification by electronically attaching it to their application. You will not be required to retake the written exam; however, you will have the option to retake the written test again and attempt a higher score. If you choose to retest and your new score is lower, the previous higher passing score will remain on record for the life of the certification list. If the written examination has been revised and/or modified, you will be required to re-test. ALL APPLICANT MUST TAKE THE WRITTEN EXAM IF TESTED PRIOR TO 1/12/2024.
