Under the direction of the Principal, assists a certificated teacher and other certificated personnel in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students with a range of physical, emotional, intellectual, and/or communication disabilities in a Special Day classroom (SDC) or other learning environment; assists with the establishment and maintenance of appropriate classroom and site behavior; assists in the preparation of instructional materials, lesson plans, and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs); assists students with performing and developing academic, social, behavioral, personal hygiene and self-help skills; and performs routine clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel.

Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: 1. Possession of a high school diploma or its equivalent; and a. at least 48 college semester units earned at an institution of higher learning; or b. possession of a degree earned at an institution of higher learning; or c. a passing score of 70% or higher on the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools Paraprofessional Examination. 2. Completion of District-assigned additional training related to the Special Education assignment 3. One year of experience working with children in an educational or learning environment. Requirements: 1. Applicants must be willing, and able, to assist students with toileting; change diapers, and soiled clothing as needed.
