The California Department of Social Services is seeking a dynamic and highly organized IT Operations Task Coordinator to join our Information Systems Division (ISD), Operations and Management Branch (OPS). In this key role, you will oversee and coordinate multiple IT tasks, ensuring their timely execution and alignment with our organizational goals. This position focuses on task coordination, systems analysis, and operations support, offering the opportunity to work on projects that directly impact the business and technical efficiency of the organization. The IT Operations Task Coordinator is responsible for managing task schedules, collaborating across IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders, and ensuring the completion of critical IT operations. This role provides the perfect mix of hands-on coordination, analysis, and operational management, making it ideal for candidates who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS (SOQ):

The Statement of Qualification must be typed, single-spaced, no more than one (2) pages in length with your full name on each page, 12-point Arial font, and address the following:

  • Write a narrative discussion of how your education, training, and experience meet the essential functions as noted in the position duty statement and how they qualify you for the position.
  • Describe a time when you had to manage multiple IT tasks or projects simultaneously while ensuring timely execution and alignment with organizational goals. Explain the methods you used to prioritize tasks, collaborate with different teams, and handle any challenges or risks that arose. How did your efforts contribute to the success of the overall project or operational objective?

Training and Development assignments may be considered based on the availability of eligible candidates and are subject to approval by the Hiring Authority prior to appointment. Training and Development assignments are temporary in nature and shall not exceed twenty-four (24) months.

Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview, but they must provide proof of residence in California prior to being eligible for appointment.
