The Business Taxes Committee (BTC) Unit researches and analyzes issues, oversees regulatory changes, reviews analysis of proposed legislation affecting the Business Tax and Fee Division (BTFD), coordinates changes to tax annotations, and coordinates the updating of CDTFA’s audit and compliance public and confidential manuals.
The Business Taxes Specialist II position will put your organizational, analytical, and communication skills to good use. The BTC Unit is looking for someone who has strong writing skills, the ability to speak effectively, and an in-depth knowledge of the laws, regulations, and policies administered by the BTFD. Candidates must be able to work both independently and cooperatively on a team.
The Incumbent In This Position Will Be Responsible For:
- Analyzing sensitive, technical, and complex law and policy issues.
- Developing and preparing documentary support for regulatory proposals.
- Explaining issues and proposals to industry or taxpayer groups, management, and other members of the public at interested parties meetings.
- Reviewing statutory and administrative changes to tax and fee program laws, policies, and procedures.
- A friendly work environment where teamwork is encouraged.
