Provide information to employees regarding health, dental, vision, consolidated benefits, Flexelect, life insurance, long-term disability, and group legal benefits. Verify eligibility and timely process employee benefit documents to enroll or continue coverage using the MyCalPERS system, the State Controller’s Office system, and forward documents to appropriate control agencies. Utilize resources such as the Benefit Administration Manual, the Department of Human Resources and the California Public Employees Retirement System as needed to ensure compliance with applicable state and/or federal laws, rules, regulations, policies, and guidance. Notify newly appointed and separating employees of Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act information and benefits; retain all benefit documents; and process benefit appeals as determined appropriate.
