Job Description :
The Women's Spirituality program at CIIS announces a part-time core faculty position, effective July 1, 2025. We are a pioneer in integrative higher education, offering interdisciplinary studies in psychology, philosophy, religion, and the arts.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Women's Spirituality graduate program offers a transdisciplinary feminist and womanist approach to the study of spirituality and religion. Our curriculum incorporates scholarship from various fields and emphasizes the historical, political, and spiritual experiences of women.
CORE FACULTY DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Core faculty members are responsible for teaching 18 units of graduate-level courses per academic year, advising students, and participating in faculty meetings and committees. Faculty are expected to engage in academic production through publication and presentations.
An individual with the rank of Assistant Professor must meet the following criteria :
- A doctoral degree or its equivalent and at least 2 years of relevant teaching or professional experience; or a Master's degree and at least 4 years of teaching or relevant professional experience.
- Scholarly contributions to a field of specialization.
- Contribution to the field through professional activities.
An individual with the rank of Associate Professor must meet the following criteria :
All core faculty are expected to contribute to administrative aspects of the program. The ideal candidate will have administrative experience in higher education.
Candidates should be conversant with current scholarship in women's spirituality and women's studies, focusing on Africana, African Diasporic, Latina / Chicana, and / or Indigenous frameworks.

Attention to detail, communication skills, and endurance for long periods of work.
LOCATION
This position may be remote or onsite, with required travel for in-person retreats and commencement activities.
WAGES AND BENEFITS
Salary range from $44,044 to $56,984, with a comprehensive array of benefits.
