Position Description

Primary Purpose and Essential Functions
Reporting to the Chair, Department of Diagnostic Sciences at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, primary areas of responsibility include being Course Director for Radiology Courses DS 160, 166, 266, coordinating the activities of the Radiology Clinic in conjunction with the Radiology Clinic Manager, and providing faculty coverage in the Radiology Clinic and other areas as indicated below. In addition to the traditional expectations for faculty members, the culture of humanism and collaboration at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry is
especially important. There are also specific expectations the school has for contributions to our programs.

Exempt, 4 days per week, 52 weeks/year; teacher-clinician track position; 4 days per week, 52 weeks per year; at the Assistant or Associate Professor Rank.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. General

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Predoctoral program
  • Didactic, pre-clinical and clinical education in the Radiology Clinic at the San Francisco Campuses and Sacramento Campuses as directed by Chair.
  • Course Director - DS 160 (IDS), DS 166, DS 266.
  • Provide academic advising and guidance.
  • Teach in ICS I didactic as directed by Chair.
  • Teach in the Main Clinic at San Francisco and Sacramento campuses as directed by Chair.
2. Others specific to the position and as directed by Chair.
3. Perform all duties as assigned by the supervisor, which may include assisting with administrative tasks, supporting project management, and contributing to department operations as needed.
4. Have the flexibility to travel to the Sacramento campus when required, supporting cross-campus initiatives and collaboration.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
  • General dentistry principles.
Ability to:
  • Provide effective curricular oversight of Diagnostic Sciences courses specific to radiology
  • Communicate effectively with administration, staff, students and public through oral and written communications.
  • Develop and deliver presentations.
  • Analyze problems, provide solutions and implement recommendations.
  • Prepare and present reports concisely and logically.
  • Effectively manage projects and deadlines with close attention to detail
  • Work with minimal supervision.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of practical dental experience working in a private practice or Community Healthcare setting.
  • Experience in collaboration within teams.
Licenses/Education:
  • DDS or DMD degree.
  • DDS/DMD or international equivalent.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Hold or be eligible for a California Dental License.
Working Conditions:
  • Position requires coordination of a variety of responsible duties in stressful non-clinical and clinical situations
  • Must be available to work additional hours every weekday and some weekends

Physical Requirements
  • Work performed is primarily general office/administrative/direct patient care with frequent use of computer keyboard and phone
  • Requires sitting, standing, bending, walking,
  • Occasional lifting of up to 15lbs should be anticipated.
Hiring Range $120,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
