The Investment Operations team is currently seeking an Investment Officer I to provide budget analysis, procurement services, and drive our CalPERS mission.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Onsite and virtually, assist with budget analysis for all Investment Expenses. Act as a technical specialist resource to the Investment Office (INVO) payment and procurement operations team. Serve as an escalation liaison on less complex budget, procurement, and payment issues with the Financial Office (FINO) and Operations Support Services Division (OSSD). Assist in the facilitation and execution of various INVO-related goods and services to support the management of the CalPERS investment portfolio.
- Onsite and virtually, provide responsive and informative support to internal and external inquiries related to investment procurements, payments, and accounting matters. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and drive continuous improvement activities. Responsible for monitoring the Investment Financial Services mailbox to triage incoming procurement, invoicing, reporting, and vendor management-related questions and requests for information in a timely manner.
- Efficiently manage incoming communications via email and other channels, triaging tasks and prioritizing activities to meet deadlines. Escalate as appropriate. Using task management tools (e.g., Asana / Optimize Spend / Power Business Intelligence (BI)), triage and track all investment finance procurement and payment requests and activities for Investment Services (IS) and perform duties as assigned in tool by IS management and Investment Officer leads.

Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.
