Patient Financial Services Coordinator

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Patient Financial Services Coordinator to join our team. This role is pivotal in assisting patients with understanding and managing their financial responsibilities while ensuring timely and accurate collection of payments. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical billing processes, and a compassionate approach to patient financial concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist patients in understanding their financial obligations, including insurance coverage, co-pays, deductibles, and payment plans.
• Coordinate billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
• Monitor and manage accounts receivable, ensuring accurate and timely collection of outstanding balances.
• Establish and maintain payment plans for patients, adhering to organizational policies.
• Serve as a liaison between patients, insurance companies, and internal departments to resolve billing or insurance issues.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and organizational regulations and policies related to patient financial services.
• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient concerns with empathy and professionalism.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient interactions and financial transactions.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Preferred minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare billing, collections, or financial services
• Strong understanding of medical billing codes, insurance processes, and patient financial systems.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
