Position Summary
As an IT Support Technician based in Birmingham, you’ll be the front‑line resource for our staff’s technology needs—troubleshooting hardware/software issues, maintaining Windows workstations, and ensuring seamless connectivity. You’ll also assist with network administration, equipment installations, and occasional project work. This role requires a proactive problem‑solver who’s comfortable working both independently and as part of a cross‑functional team. Because we support multiple facilities, you should be willing to travel (~25–30% of work time) across Alabama, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Key Responsibilities
- End‑User Support: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for Windows desktops and laptops, iPhones, iPads, printers, and VoIP phones
- Onsite Visits: Travel to branch locations in AL, TN, and VA to install, configure, and troubleshoot equipment and network connectivity
- System Maintenance: Perform routine system health checks, software updates, and patch management
- Account Administration: Manage user accounts, permissions, and access in Azure Active Directory and Microsoft 365
- Mobile Device Management: Enroll, configure, and support corporate iPhones and iPads via Apple MDM (e.g., Jamf Pro)
- Documentation: Create and maintain clear IT procedures, knowledge‑base articles, and support tickets
- Project Support: Assist with rollouts of new systems, migrations (e.g., AD to Azure AD), and small‑scale infrastructure upgrades
- Security & Compliance: Enforce company IT policies, assist with endpoint security (antivirus, encryption), and support HIPAA‑compliance initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Experience: 2 years of hands‑on IT support in a Windows‑only environment
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and Microsoft 365 Admin Center
- Experience managing corporate iPhones and iPads via Apple MDM solutions (e.g., Jamf Pro)
- Familiarity with Windows 10/11 and basic networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN)
- Comfort with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk)
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and customer‑service orientation
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing needs
- Detail‑oriented with excellent troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A or Network certification (or equivalent)
- Experience with Microsoft Intune and hybrid Azure AD join
- Basic understanding of VoIP phone systems and wireless networking
- Prior exposure to healthcare or specialty pharmacy environments
Travel Requirement
- Frequency: Up to 25–30% travel across Alabama, Tennessee, and Virginia
- Transportation: Must have reliable personal transportation and a valid driver’s license
