Position Salary Range : $13,928 - $20,893 per month
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $16,600 - $17,400 per month
Salary is commensurate with experience.

About the Department / Position :
Under the administrative direction of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Associate Vice President of Faculty Affairs and Development is responsible for administering the processes for faculty recruitment, faculty tenure, retention and promotion; faculty governance; faculty compliance with policies governing professional standards of conduct; and for various faculty personnel processes within the Academic Affairs Division. The incumbent is expected to provide vision and leadership for new faculty and orientation and training of department chairs, and faculty. The AVP has responsibility for faculty development, and providing direction to the staff and faculty director of the Faculty Development Center. The incumbent must show evidence of commitment to affirmative action, cultural diversity issues, recruitment of underrepresented faculty, experience or willingness or understanding of how to work with collective bargaining agreements, and working with faculty in an environment of shared governance. The Associate Vice President recommends long- and short-range plans and keeps abreast of other program planning to identify faculty personnel needs and policy implications. The AVP leads and manages a team of support staff and a confidential assistant.
Overview of Duties and Responsibilities :
- Addresses all faculty collective bargaining issues.
- Counsels and advises President, Provost, Deans and other administrators on various faculty personnel issues.
- Serves as liaison to the Chancellor's Office Employee Relations for faculty collective bargaining issues and the Office of General Counsel for faculty legal issues.
- Manages Faculty Affairs and Development staff involved in coordinating academic personnel services.
- Administers, coordinates, and secures the integrity of faculty personnel processes such as Retention, Tenure and Promotion (RTP) and Perceived Teaching Effectiveness (PTE).
