The Student Academic Services Unit provides activities and services which actively support California State University, Fullerton's mission by promoting the development of the whole student - academically, intellectually, and socially. We strive to create an environment where all students can succeed. The department coordinates the services of several student programs, many of which give particular attention to the education needs of low-income disadvantaged college students to ensure that they can successfully complete their college education. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Admissions Administrative Support Coordinator I. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Working under the supervision of the Director of the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), the EOP Administrative Support Coordinator provides general office support to students, faculty, staff, and community members. The Administrative Support Coordinator for the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Admissions unit performs various functions necessary to facilitate students 'entry into EOP, counselor assignments, and various recordkeeping regarding EOP. The Administrative Support Coordinator performs clerical work that requires discretion, accuracy, and speed; determines own work priorities on a day-to-day basis. The Coordinator handles confidential materials relating to student files, financial records, and miscellaneous documentation. Prepares computer generated reports for review and revisions by the EOP Administrative Analyst. Serves as the lead for the EOP Admissions student assistants. Serves as unit lead in lieu of the EOP Administrative Analyst. Assists the EOP Administrative Analyst with other duties as assigned. Additionally, the EOP Coordinator also helps coordinate and plan outreach activities such as on campus visits from local high school, community college and the community at large. The Coordinator, develop flyers and marketing materials related to the promotion of EOP to potential student applicants. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

High School diploma or the equivalent and four years of progressively responsible experience in general office, clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent. Thorough, detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Thorough knowledge of office systems with the ability to use a range of technology, systems and software packages. Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects. Ability to apply a variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. Ability to perform standard business math including calculating ratios and percentages, tracking financial data, and making simple projections. Ability to draft and compose correspondence and standard reports. Ability to handle effectively a broad range of interpersonal contacts including those at a higher level and those sensitive in nature.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

License/Certifications

A valid California driver's license.
