Job Summary
The Caseworker plays a vital role in supporting individuals and families in need by conducting interviews, developing case plans, and providing guidance to help them achieve self-sufficiency.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Interview participants to determine eligibility for cash assistance and supportive services from the CTTP program.
- Identify barriers to self-sufficiency and provide families with tools to overcome these obstacles.
- Meet with participants monthly to review progress and update information in the TAS system.
- Review participant work logs to ensure they are meeting required work hours.
- Refer participants to community resources and other organizations as needed.
- Compile records and prepare reports on participant progress.
- Enter participant case plans and information into the TAS computer system.
- Implement participant case plans, including securing supplementary information and providing home visits when necessary.
- Attend court appearances and make child abuse reports as needed.
- Work with participants and agencies to address domestic violence cases.
- Transport participants when necessary and maintain a clean and safe office environment.
Requirements
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
- A High School Diploma Equivalency and six months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A current California driver's license.
- Proficiency in database software, word processing software, and contact management systems.
- The ability to identify and resolve problems in a friendly manner and develop alternative solutions.
- The ability to work effectively in group problem-solving situations and use reason when dealing with emotional topics.
- The ability to respond promptly to participant needs and requests for service and assistance.
- The ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- The ability to exhibit sound and accurate judgment.
- The ability to react well under pressure.
- The ability to prioritize and plan work activities, using time efficiently, and demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness.
- The ability to approach others in a tactful manner.
- The ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction, take responsibility for own actions, and complete tasks on time or notify appropriate person with an alternate plan.
Working Conditions
- Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
- Requires sitting 6-8 hours per day.
- Requires occasional driving to participants' homes for site visits.
- Requires contact with others (face-to-face, by telephone, via email, or through correspondence).
- Requires making decisions that affect other people, their financial resources, and/or the image and reputation of the organization.
- Requires attention to detail and intense concentration.
- Requires work with others in a group or team.
- Requires meeting strict deadlines.

- Experience working with Tribal People is beneficial.
- Work hours may vary.
- CTTP conducts a pre-employment criminal background check and drug test, and random or for-cause drug testing thereafter.
