Job Summary / Basic Function
The Internship Program Coordinator will work with employers to develop paid internship opportunities, focused in Clarion and Venango counties, that provide career-related experience for students while supporting workforce development in the region. This is a three-year grant with the opportunity to extend to a permanent position at the conclusion of the grant.
Duties include:
Employer & Community Engagement:
- Initiate and maintain relationships with regional employers, Chambers of Commerce and other economic development and community organizations to identify workforce development needs across multiple industries.
- Collaborate with employers to design internship opportunities that meet their needs, provide meaningful learning experiences for students, and align with academic objectives.
Marketing and Promotion:
- Partner with academic departments, the Internship Center and Career Center, and other campus stakeholders to identify types of internships in demand, assist students in identifying, preparing and applying for internship opportunities and ensure alignment with academic goals.
- Develop marketing materials and promotions to raise awareness of internship opportunities among employers, students, faculty and staff.
Data Management and Program Assessment:
- Maintain accurate records of internship placements, including student participation, employer feedback, and program outcomes.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internship experiences by gathering feedback from students, employers, and faculty and make continuous improvements.

Minimum of Education / TrainingRequired Education Summary
- Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of experience relevant to the position’s responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with internship programs, career development practices, and employment trends
- Experience working in higher education
- Familiarity with businesses and organizations in Clarion and Venango Counties.
