Calipatria State Prison is located in sunny southern California, approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes south of Palms Springs and 2 hours and 20 minutes east of San Diego.

In addition, this classification is eligible for an annual recruitment and retention bonus of $2,400 after completion of 12 months in the classification, $3,000 after completion of 24 months in the classification, $3;600 after completion of 36 months in the classification, and $4,800 after completion of 48 months in the classification.
