A young and growing multijurisdictional law firm seeks attorneys barred in both New Jersey and New York (1-7 years admission), insurance litigation, No-Fault and federal court experience would be helpful. Our offices are located in Northern New Jersey, in Bergen County, and on Long Island, in Nassau County, New York. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Associate Attorney Job Summary
Your tasks include Court and arbitration appearances drafting legal documents, assisting with the discovery process, depositions/examinations under oath and performing legal research. While we sometimes negotiate settlements on behalf of clients without going to trial, we are looking for someone who can aggressively represent our clients' interests. Our ideal applicant has 1-7 years of litigation experience, preferably focused on insurance law to include No-Fault/PIP, auto accident cases, and slip-and-fall negligence.
Associate Attorney Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with drafting legal documents, including motions and pleadings
- Assist with the discovery process by administering depositions/examinations under oath, issuing/answering interrogatories and written discovery, and reviewing documents
- Negotiate settlements
- Perform legal research
- Make court appearances as necessary
Associate Attorney Requirements and Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- License to practice law in NY or NJ, preferably both states
- Litigation experience (1-7 years)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical skills
- Attention to detail
Salary : $90,000 - $130,000
