What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Advancement position at Calvary Christian School?
The Director of Advancement will enable Calvary Christian School to accomplish its mission by
leading effective, annual, capital and planned giving campaigns.
Reporting to the Headmaster and working alongside the Administrative Team, this is a strategic
leadership position engaging others in support of Calvary Christian School.
DUTIES
- Provide input on the planning and implementation of an intentional, formalized development plan that is consistent with the school’s mission, vision, and values of CCS
- Collaborate with the CCS Headmaster and Marketing Director to generate development material and case statements
- Meet bi-weekly with the CCS Headmaster
- Fundraising
- o Manage the Annual Campaign and all associated fundraising events
- o Manage any on-going Capital Campaigns through the engagement of internal,
- external, individual and corporate donors
- o Establish and maintain an endowment for the future financial health of the school
- o Engage at least 20 potential donors each month
- o Communicate regularly with donors, track donations and produce annual statements through Little Green Light
- Alumni Relations
- o Build enduring relationships with CCS Alumni
- o Develop events to engage Alumni in the life of CCS
- o Connect with at least 20 alumni per month
- o Maintain and grow the CCS alumni database
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field with at least 3 years non-profit experience, or the equivalent in experience
- Proven resource development results
- Grant writing and grant solicitation experience would be desired but not required
- Experienced and with adequate skills in public speaking
- Proficient in office protocols and practices
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information according to established procedures
- Excellent management and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational abilities
- Demonstrated proficiency in grammatical and writing skills, general office skills, and organization of details, including telephone skills, filing, record keeping and time management
- Effective communicator, writer and editor

SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS
The salary is commensurate with education and job experience. Other benefits include but are
not limited to: tuition discount for all children, life and health insurance, and a Christian, family-friendly
work environment. Additionally, the successful applicant will receive two weeks of paid
vacation in the summer, plus all school holidays off with pay.
