Chief Mechanical Engineer

Calvary Robotics is a Global Systems Integrator specializing in custom automated manufacturing systems in a variety of manufacturing industries. We are seeking a Chief Mechanical Engineer to support our future growth. This position will be responsible for the mechanical engineering technical direction of incoming projects including but not limited to mechanical concepting, mechanical design, and commissioning of industrial mechanical systems for a wide range of custom assembly, test and material handling machines/systems.

Interact with the Director of Mechanical Engineering to:

• Align goals and responsibilities
• Identify department needs and review current programs/initiatives/continuous improvement goals
• Participate in interviewing potential new hires

Projects

• Participate in all project concept and design reviews
• Assess projects technical requirements vs budget, schedule, scope of work, and resources
• Assist leads on red projects as needed
• Fill-in for project leads as needed

Interact with Team Members

• Must communicate advanced engineering concepts from planning stages
• Provide technical direction, training and mentoring

Work with sales and application engineering departments to participate in risk analysis efforts

Review and assist with the mechanical content of some estimates and proposals

Respected for technical ability amongst peers, other departments, corporate leadership, customers and suppliers

Understand project financials and reports

Minimum BS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology

Minimum 10 years of Custom Automation experience- This is a requirement

Expertise in mechanical design of industrial machinery and debug of machines

Hands-on experience in setting up and running projects and teams

Minimum of 5 years in a lead, mgmt role

Strong understanding of technical concepts, risk planning, project budgeting, and estimate to completion

Risk based PM experience
