The Crisis Intervention Specialist works from a strengths-based, trauma-informed care model and collaborates with case managers and other program staff to ensure high-quality services for clients. The Crisis Intervention Specialist will support the success of the organization by actively demonstrating Calvary's core values - respect, empowerment, collaboration, diversity & inclusion, and excellence - on the team, to the women we serve, and to the broader DC community.
The Crisis Intervention Specialist position is a part-time, on-call position that supports women living in Calvary’s domestic violence housing program in the evenings or on weekends. The Crisis Intervention Specialist is available by phone, video, and on-site at the scattered-site locations in the community where the clients reside.
Requirements
- Provide crisis management and behavioral interventions to clients in their homes on a rotating weekend and evening on-call schedule (available 24 / 7 from Friday 5 pm to Monday 9 am)
- Support clients to maintain sobriety, use healthy coping skills, and remain in good standing with the program and their apartment leases
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members to ensure coordinated and collaborative support for clients
- Meet contract requirements for documentation and professional development training
- Safeguard confidentiality
- Participate in monthly supervision and staff meetings
Requirements :
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years’ experience providing direct services to survivors of domestic violence, training in crisis management and conflict resolution, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a demonstrated commitment to the values of diversity, inclusiveness and empowerment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Candidates use their own transportation for trips out of the office and to client apartments.
