Calvert Internal Medicine Group is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Representative to join our team. This role is responsible for processing the practice’s account receivables while ensuring compliance with established organizational and departmental policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience in medical billing, and the ability to effectively manage outstanding claims and patient balances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly and professionally to patient and insurance carrier inquiries.
- Research and follows up on unpaid claims, ensuring timely resolution.
- Process claims corrections following departmental procedures.
- Review past-due accounts and solicit payment plans from patients as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of aged insurance claims and patient balances.
- Transfer balances to patients when insurance does not process the claim.
- Organize and update patient records, including managing faxed documents.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all applicable policies and procedures.
- Participate in organizational and departmental meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in medical accounts receivable required.
- Proficiency in practice management/EHR systems, CPT, and ICD-10 coding.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Familiarity with insurance verification systems.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
- Experience with electronic medical records and medical terminology is a plus.
