Company Overview
Calvert Racing began manufacturing specialized drag race car suspension parts in 1996, adding Calvert Laser to consolidate the manufacturing process. We are a busy well-known manufacturer of unique automotive suspension parts, chiefly for car and truck racing (street/track/drag/dirt), shipping finished products to individuals and authorized dealers all over the world. We have two facilities, Calvert Laser and Calvert Racing, both in Lancaster, CA.
The candidate will spend most of the time at Laser, working at Racing when circumstances require it.
PTO and paid Holidays after probation period. Possibility of future full time with cross-training for the right candidate.
Summary
Looking for an energetic, dependable, and detail-oriented person to work in a busy automotive manufacturing/warehouse environment part time, sometimes dividing time between two locations. Busy shop(s), some noise, and temperature variations. Most work will be conducted inside a warehouse/facility.
Responsibilities
- Operate Forklift, pallet jacks
- Operate Pressbrake
- Use a wide variety of shop power tools and machinery
- Assemble machined parts
- Receive and organize parts/sheet metals in shop
- Prepare/load Pressbrake and/or Laser for production
- Box and prepare parts to be delivered/shipped
- Drive company vehicle to deliver boxes/pallets
- Adhere to company safety protocols/use provided safety equipment as required, such as glasses, gloves, masks, aprons, ear protection, etc.
- Keep work areas clean, safe and clutter free.
- Other tasks as directed
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to communicate clearly in English (speak/read/write/count)
- Clean driving record, must have own vehicle
- Excellent work ethic, attendance, and punctuality is required
- Detail oriented, able to perform all tasks to required specs
- Ability to intermittently lift, push and/or pull up to 80 pounds, and stand/move for entire shift
- Ability to lift, bend, kneel, climb, crawl and/or twist, and safely climb up/down a ladder and stairs
- Comfortable in manufacturing/warehouse environment
Preferred Experience
- Pressbrake
- CNC Laser, Lathes, Mills
- Forklift / Pallet Jack proficiency
- Knowledge of general manufacturing/warehouse
- Knowledge of automotive maintenance a plus
