About the Skillbridge Internship Program:
Calvert Systems is proud to be an approved partner under the DoD SkillBridge Program under DoD Instruction 1322.29. The Calvert Systems SkillBridge Internship Program is an opportunity for transitioning military service members to gain valuable, civilian, work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. This program is open to all ranks and experience levels. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Calvert Systems, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members. During this program the service member will be required to be on-site performing entry to mid-level job duties working a full-time schedule equivalent to 40 hours per week.
SkillBridge Internship Program Goals:
Offer transitioning service members skilled and experienced training that they will be able to use in the civilian workforce. SkillBridge Interns will serve as a pipeline for regular, full-time employment opportunities at Calvert Systems.
SkillBridge Internship Program Objectives:
Service Members completing the Internship program will be introduced to Calvert Systems' Mission, Vision and Values while being fully trained on how we execute to create long-lasting relationships, achieve company growth initiatives, and overall successes for us and our customers.
As a SkillBridge Intern, you will provide subject matter expertise (SME) in piloting by consulting with corporate customers to identify current operating procedures, clarify program objectives, test and implement process improvements, and offer SME guidance for effective goal planning and achievement.
Who You Are and What You Need:

DoD SkillBridge eligibility required
- Service Member must be within 12 months of separation or retirement
- Service Member must receive written authorization and approval from the Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship
- Service Member must be in good military standing with expectation to receive an honorable discharge
- Service Member must have started the TAPS/TGPS program
What You Will Do:
- Participate in ground/classroom training for the 747-400

Obtain FAA Type Certificate for 747-400 & 747-8i
- Complete all level D full flight simulator sessions including Line Oriented Flight Training (LOFT) over a 3-week period
- Prepare and complete oral and practical exam in a level D sim by an FAA approved in-house evaluator
- Complete 747-800I difference training and certification

Translate 747 experience and training into viable SAOC customer test and operation plans.
- Integrate and train with the customer's flight department; develop company operations and test plans via a mixture of on-site & remote collaboration.
- Collaborate and advise SAOC customer on mission-based engineering variables affecting aircraft power plant, electric, avionics, pneumatics, hydraulics, oxygen, and fuel systems.
- Assist in aircraft flight characterization data collection planning.
