As an Evening Dietary Cook, you will be responsible for preparing meals in accordance with dietary restrictions and preferences for our residents while maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness.

The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing specialized diets and working in a long-term care setting. As an Evening Dietary Cook, you will be responsible for preparing meals in accordance with dietary restrictions and preferences for our residents while maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to specific dietary plans (e.g., low sodium, diabetic, pureed, etc.) for long-term care residents.
- Ensure all meals are cooked safely and stored properly, following food safety protocols (Safe Serve certification required).
- Work independently, managing cooking stations, food prep, and cooking timelines.
- Assist in menu planning, food ordering, and inventory management.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with staff to ensure residents’ dietary needs are met.
- Ensure all food is prepared to meet dietary restrictions and preferences of each resident.
- Ensure excellent attendance and punctuality to maintain consistency in food preparation and service.
- Previous experience as a Dietary Cook or in a similar role, preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting.
- Safe Serve Certification is required.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow dietary guidelines.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Knowledge of specialized diets (diabetic, gluten-free, low sodium, etc.).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Positive attitude and team-oriented approach.
