Our client school in the greater Miami, FL area seeks a Lower School Director of Student Services to begin in July 2025.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Master's degree in Education Administration or related field
- 3-5 years of experience as a teacher, with program coordination and supervisory experience preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the integration process for students receiving special services
- Consult with the leadership team to hire, mentor, and train LS Faculty and Staff
- Consult with the Leadership team regarding enrollment decisions
- Support creating and implementing student-centered schedules
- Design, Deliver, and Support Professional Development
- Contribute to curriculum design, inventory, and implementation
- Advocate for instructional excellence in the least restrictive environment
- Observe, model, and support teachers with meaningful strategies and robust training
- Attend Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings and Child Study Team (CST) meetings
- Construct student action plans based on Child Study Checklist (CSC)
- Build Learning Profiles (LPs) that are relevant, meaningful, and support students' needs based on family-provided ed-psych testing
- In collaboration with students, teachers, and families, update LPs annually
- Review and ensure that LPs are implemented with fidelity in all learning environments
- Participate in curriculum meetings advocating for child-centered decision-making that encompasses differentiation, evidence-based instruction, executive function, and other modalities
- Participate in curriculum meetings supporting the quality of teaching and learning through specific teaching strategies, including special education, executive function, and other modalities
- Establish and support robust communication with teachers, parents, administrators, and counselors to support the
