Corporate Payroll Specialist
The Corporate Payroll Specialist will be a highly motivated and results-oriented individual managing multiple payrolls within the US Region. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing assigned payrolls, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and providing exceptional customer service for any payroll-related issues that may arise. They will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, contributing to employee satisfaction and financial accuracy. The ideal candidate will have experience with multi-state, multi-union and non-union payroll, preferably in industrial companies.
This position reports to the Payroll Manager and is based in Houston, Texas.
SKILLS & CRITICAL TASKS
Knowledge and experience of end-to-end payroll process ensuring correct calculations for wages, applicable federal, state and local taxes, and deductions
Strong attention to detail and high efficiency in data entry
Ability to problem solve and address any critical issues in a knowledgeable, systematic and effective way
Effective oral and written communication
Practices a high level of confidentiality and data protection
Demonstrates ability to plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines
Team player who takes initiative, strives for continuous improvement, able to think and act independently
Must have strong proficiency with Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel
Deep knowledge and experience with Ceridian (Dayforce) or other comparable payroll software required
Must become familiar with all company HR policies and practices to ensure proper functionality in payroll
Maintains knowledge of governmental reporting requirements and regulations affecting payroll and human resources
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5 years’ experience processing payroll
2-3 years’ experience with multi-union payroll required
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Payroll tax and benefits knowledge
Associates degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Industrial experience or payroll experience with heavy non-exempt population preferred
Experience implementing/transitioning payroll systems a plus
Clean driving record and ability to provide proof of the right to work in the United States required
