Position Summary:
The Field Accounting Clerk is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll and timekeeping data for all site employees. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Supervisor or Manager, the Field Accounting Clerk plays a key role in maintaining accurate employee records, resolving discrepancies, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This position demands a high level of confidentiality and professionalism while liaising with site teams to address and resolve any payroll or timekeeping issues.
This temporary, full-time position is expected to last 4-6 weeks or until project completion. This position is based out of the Edmonton office.
Primary Responsibilities:
Daily posting and balancing of time for all CAM site employees.
Run and verify extracts upon timesheet entry completion.
Identify variances through time reconciliation and resolve discrepancies.
Process system hires, terminates, and adjustments accurately.
Maintain employee and timesheet files with meticulous attention to detail.
Liaise with site teams to address and resolve payroll or time-related issues.
Ensure compliance with Internal Controls and company policies.
Provide recommendations for continuous improvement in payroll processes.
Handle highly confidential, sensitive, and critical information with discretion.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Qualifications:
3–5 years of experience in payroll, field accounting, or administrative roles.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and payroll data entry.
Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a sense of care for people.
Flexibility to work overtime when necessary to meet deadlines.
Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to collaboration and improvement.
