Position Summary:
As a Project Controls Specialist, you will be responsible for tracking project performance, developing reports, analyzing cost and schedule data, and supporting project managers to ensure successful execution. You will work closely with both internal teams and client stakeholders, making a direct impact on project efficiency and financial outcomes.
This is a temporary, full-time position, expected to last approximately 6 months or until project completion, following a standard turnaround schedule.
Primary Responsibilities:
Collect, analyze, and manage project performance data to support informed decision-making.
Track project costs, verify invoices, and ensure accurate coding and allocation.
Prepare cost reports, including final cost forecasts and variance analysis.
Identify and flag significant projected overages or savings.
Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
Coordinate with supervisors and project managers to assess progress and potential risks.
Ensure alignment between cost and scheduling data for accurate forecasting.
Act as a key liaison, interacting with project managers, senior leadership, and client personnel.
Prepare and present weekly operational and client reports.
Support turnaround planning and execution to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery.
Qualifications:
3 years in an accounting or project controls environment.
3-5 years of hands-on experience in both cost control and scheduling within industrial projects.
Previous experience in turnaround or maintenance projects is a strong asset.
Diploma, degree, or certification in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and forecasting abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
