EEG Technician

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Registered EEG Technician for a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate will perform complex Electroencephalogram (EEG) and Evoked Potential procedures in accordance with the standards set by the American Society of EEG Technologists (ASET). This position involves both technical and clerical responsibilities within the EEG department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and complex EEG and Evoked Potential studies
• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
• Operate EEG and related equipment according to protocol
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other staff
• Support the department with clerical and data entry tasks as needed

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification by the American Board of Registered EEG Technologists (ABRET)
• Minimum 1 year of EEG experience (2 years preferred)
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of software systems such as Cerner, Affinity, Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Preferred:

• Experience with evoked potentials
• Previous hospital or acute care setting experience

Working Conditions:

• May be exposed to infectious diseases and agitated patients
• Occasional exposure to chemicals (collodion and acetone)
• Physically demanding—requires lifting or transferring patients and equipment (up to 40 lbs)
• Long periods of sitting or standing

Supervision:

Reports to the Executive Director of Diagnostic and Respiratory Therapy Service Lines.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $2,100.00 - $2,250.00 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

Experience:

• EEG Technician: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• BLS Certification (Required)
• REEGT (Required)
