What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prevention Specialist position at Cambria County Drug Coalition?
JOB OBJECTIVE: Offer support to all Coalition partners in the prevention of tobacco and alcohol use in the county with special focus on youth prevention, cessation / treatment, and recovery.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Vital role in day-to-day operations ie: answering phones / emails, filing and calendar management
- Offer all levels of support to ensure effective and efficient operation for the Community Education Sector including the Business, Faith Based and Media Committees. As well as the Prevention Education Sector including the Youth Committee. As Sector Staff Liaison prepare coalition reports, materials, and budgets
- Assist in the coordination and execution of programs, special events and other initiatives designed to achieve tobacco and alcohol prevention, cessation / treatment, and recovery. Including timelines, power point presentations, onsite event staffing, virtual / hybrid events, set-up / break-down, event logistic reports with budgets and marketing
- Professional representation of the CCDC at all work-related events and within the community.
- Assist the Project Coordinator with creating social media content. Work with county and regional media outlets including television, newspaper, and radio along with the Executive Director.
- Aids in the coordination of tobacco and alcohol enforcement activities ie: tobacco and alcohol point of sale compliance checks
- Plans annual tobacco and alcohol holiday events and recruits’ youth to participate through volunteer and social media engagement opportunities
- Writes, reviews, and implements tobacco and alcohol polices for schools, colleges, housing sites, municipalities, boroughs, townships, cities, foundations, and other worksites
- Ensures tobacco cessation services are provided through out the region, including facilitating trainings once certified
- Works to train medical offices, dental offices, behavior health care facilities and others on the PA Free Quitline
- Prepares Adagio Health monthly progress reports and submits monthly invoice to CCDC Executive Director for approval
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by CCDC Executive Director
- Travel and earn professional development certifications as identified
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year
