Qualifications/Experience:
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree
Experience working with students in a career advisory role
Working with high school students and staff
Required:
High School Diploma/GED
Successful background check
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Needed:
Organization skills, flexibility, teamwork, self-starter, takes direction easily, excellent communication skills, ability to work with students, teachers, & community members.
Exemplifies the following Five Character Traits: compassion, respect, responsibility, self discipline and honesty.
Specific Tasks:
Maintain the Career Center, update forms and handouts, order publications. Conduct presentations on careers. Meet with students about college & career plans and opportunities. Coordinate career speakers, activities and events. Coordinate field trips to local business & industries, post-secondary schools, and career events. Coordinate mock interviews. Schedule military and trade union rep visits. Maintain/update master job opportunities spreadsheet. Update College & Career Center website. Collaborate with the other Career Advisor on projects as needed.
Hours Per Day:
7.5 hrs per day
