Qualifications/Experience:
Minnesota teaching license required.
Current MN teaching license for grade levels of assignment.
Successful background check required.
Experience with school aged children that includes experience with children at risk for academic success preferred. Knowledge of effective and varied teaching strategies, classroom accommodations, modifications, and varied assessment techniques. Knowledge of various methods of data collection and analysis to drive appropriate behavioral interventions.
The ADSIS Behavior Interventionist is responsible for contributing to the district Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) by providing targeted and intensive support for Tier 2 students who have behavioral challenges and therefore are at risk for school success. Provide direct behavioral intervention for qualifying students, manages data and collaborates with teachers and parents. Performs difficult professional work providing instruction insuring all students within the academic discipline area learn and achieve academic excellence, achieve self mastery and social competency and develop their own missions (purpose) and vision for a positive future and an environment favorable to learning, teaching a board range of subjects or specialized subject matter(s), teaching special needs students, motivating students to achieve maximum potential, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Principal.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Needed:
Thorough knowledge of social emotional learning priciples and trauma informed practices, special education principles, practices and procedures; thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching, thorough knowledge of District rules, regulations and procedures; ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior; ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students and parents, working knowledge of academic and social skills commensurate with the student’s age and developmental level, the ability to research and implement individualized interventions based on student’s needs, understanding of data collection and analysis methods.

Specific Tasks:
Provide an ideal, positive learning environment with learning opportunities for student success. Instruct students in individual or small group sessions providing students with multiple instructional strategies.
Assess and evaluate students' progress; maintain records; prepare progress reports.
Develop, translate and integrate lesson plans, content, technology and instructional materials into learning experiences
Adapt teaching materials and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge students
Determine students eligible for ADSIS services by examining the data and knowing the entrance criteria.
Schedule students and small groups to receive the intervention.
Record and analyze intervention data, including progress monitoring and intervention adjustments.
Assess and evaluate students' progress; maintain records; prepare progress reports
Monitor eligibility for exit.
Submit records in compliance with district and state guidelines
Confer with the classroom teacher and/or PLC.
Communicate with parents for program entrance, progress, and exit.
Communicate with ADSIS and Problem Solving Teams (PST).
