What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activities Director position at Cambridge Place Senior Village?
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for planning and implementing social, recreational and educational activities for independent living residents, with a focus on wellness. Work closely in coordination with other departments, and assist them as part of a team effort. Reports directly to Administrator.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Development and delivery of activity/recreational programs to promote the patients’ opportunities for engaging in normal life enhancement pursuits and to increase and/or maintain functioning levels.
- Maintains precautions/limitations list on each patient.
- Encourages patient participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, community outings, religious activities, intellectual/educational activities, community/center service activities, recreational activities, etc.
- Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma with course work in recreation is desirable; Completion of a state approved activity-training course is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in leading recreational activities, arts/crafts, intellectual/educational activities, community outings, etc., desired.
- Must have an active Certified Nursing Assistant License within the state of Kansas.
