This position involves driving residents to appointments, events, and other outings, with flexibility in hours and a mix of weekday and weekend shifts. This position also involves scheduling, coordinating, and communicating effectively with a senior population.
Job Overview
The Transportation Director is responsible for providing safe, timely, and courteous transportation services to our residents using a van or similar passenger vehicle. The role also involves coordinating the transportation schedule, assisting with resident activities, and performing light cleaning duties when not actively driving. The ideal candidate will be highly reliable, customer-focused, and ready to contribute to our team’s success.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport residents to and from scheduled appointments, events, and activities in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and manage the transportation schedule, ensuring all requests are met.
- Provide assistance to residents as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety while in transit.
- Assist in light housekeeping, activity support, or other duties when not actively driving.
- Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and families to ensure smooth operations.
- Demonstrate professionalism and excellent customer service at all times.
- Adhere to all local, state, and company driving safety policies and guidelines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must have a valid North Carolina state driver’s license.
- A clean and safe driving record is required.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with residents as needed.
- Must be able to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
- Previous experience in a transportation or customer service role is preferred.
- Must have favorable references.
