Vice President, Brand Marketing

Overview:
Come be a part of the marketing transformation at Camco! The VP, Brand Marketing, will shape the brand strategy for Camco and its product brands. This will include overseeing the development and implementation of brand positioning and plans (product, marketing, advertising, creative, social media, and business plans) to enhance our brands’ presence and awareness while contributing to our overall business goals. The role requires an innovative and forward-thinking mindset with exceptional capabilities to deeply connect with our consumer and build marketing activations against insights, in line with our brand purpose. Strategically, it will have the responsibility for the brand P&L. He/she will be responsible for developing and leading the strategic marketing plans to accelerate growth, gain market share and enhance profitability for the Camco business in an omni-channel retail environment. This leader will have responsibility for driving in-year business performance as well as developing the integrated commercial strategy for the brand for the near & mid-term. Ideal candidates will be passionate, creative and strategic brand leaders with a proven track-record of building and scaling brands and communities. The ideal candidate will have a track record of driving results, while developing a strong collaborative team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a full brand refresh with an emphasis on refining and re-invigorating the brand story and its positioning through new packaging, product innovations, brand architecture, pricing, creative/advertising.
- Collaborate with teams across multiple functions ensuring teams partner effectively in support of flawless omni-channel commercial execution.
- Ensure clear vision around brand purpose and brand ambition.
- Support innovation pipeline with rich consumer insights that enable new product development that is true to the brand anatomy, identifying business development opportunities to help fill strategic gaps in the portfolio while meeting enterprise growth and profitability targets.
- Work hand in hand with the creative team/agency to ensure they are capable to produce consistent on-equity, creative content in all touchpoints
- Understand customer behavior and expectations to be able to anticipate consumer needs and design programs and messaging that resonate and connect authentically.
- Understand the retail landscape, inclusive of e-Commerce, to design marketing and consumer acquisition/retention strategies to grow the brand and meet sales and profitability targets.
- Manage P&L and build a well-thought-out budget. Adapt and optimize in support of profit targets.
- Oversee development of market research to understand industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape. Use this insight to identify opportunities for our brands.
- Utilize data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of brand strategies and make data driven decisions.
- Devise the segmented marketing plans, including product mix, pricing, and channels of distribution.
- Provide leadership and direction in the implementation of marketing strategies to achieve objectives for revenues, share, and margins.
- Direct the collection of market and competitive data and consumer/category to assess trends & category performance to arrive at implications for the brand.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- 15 years’ experience in marketing or brand management with exposure to key cross functional disciplines (i.e. finance, operations, legal, HR) and experience across brand fundamentals (media, PR, creative, insights & analytics, product development)
- Experience with capability building and leading a team of direct reports & agency FTEs.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and growing a brand, with a focus on product development, marketing strategy, and market analysis.
- Solid understanding of market research and data analysis methods.
- Collaborative and empathetic leadership skills.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a bias towards action
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
