GRADER OPERATOR - Climax Springs Camden County Road & Bridge Department This is a full time position that includes a full range of benefits including vacation, sick leave, holidays, and employee health, dental, life, disability and retirement programs. JOB DESCRIPTION:
·Operates a motor grader and vehicles in the construction and maintenance of Camden County streets, roads and bridges.
·On call 24 hours a day for emergency services.
·Operates a road grader, chain saw, dump truck and pick-up trucks, in the construction and maintenance of county roads and bridges.
·Operates a motor grader to patch old pavement, install pipes, cut ditches, provide drainage control, build subgrade, and plow snow; flags traffic.
·Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs to equipment and vehicles such as fueling, oil changes,scheduled maintenance, light repairs, and cleaning.
·Occasionally performs manual labor including digging, cleaning ditches, shoveling and spreading material; cutsgrass, weeds and brush; erects concrete forms, pours concrete walls, prepares bridge decks and footings.
·Occasionally drives all sizes of trucks to haul rock, sand, gravel, salt and asphalt; operates heavy equipment such as rollers, pavers, mowers, loaders and backhoes.
·Monitors conditions of roadways assigned for potential storm water, subgrade, and signage issues.·Inspect assigned roadways for unpermitted utility and driveway installations.
·Performs other duties as assigned.
