Job Title: Day Group Sales Manager

Reports to: Director of Sales
Responsible for proactively soliciting and developing key accounts to contribute to the top-line revenue goals within the Day Group market segment. Additionally, this role includes overseeing the training, development, scheduling, and performance management of the Day Group Concierge team..
How I can create Guests for Life:
- Develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel with particular emphasis on indoor and outdoor waterparks, adventure park attractions, snow tubing and winter sports. An understanding of Food and Beverage operations, Guest Services/Ticketing and Call Center support services is also required.
- Develop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and SOP’s and ensure knowledge of and adherence to those policies by the day group concierge team.
- Meet or exceed set personal and team goals.
- Manage Day Group Sales team within established sales expense budget.
- Initiate and follow up on leads.
- Maintain and participate in an active sales solicitation program.
- Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within your market.
- Regularly contact existing accounts based on the tracing frequencies of the Account Coverage Program.
- Meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals as assigned by the Director of Sales.
- Invite clients to the hotel for entertainment, lunches, tours and site inspections.
- Assist in implementing special promotions relating to direct sales segments, i.e parties, sales blitzes, etc.
- Assist in the preparation of required reports in a timely manner.
- Be familiar with all Hotel sales policies and selling techniques with an emphasis on maximizing through-put and average ticket price.
- Conduct a professional, thorough site inspection of the hotel with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the property.
- Use your property’s computerized sales management system to manage the hotel’s business, including (but not limited to) generating reports, entering business, blocking space and building accounts.
- Meet and greet onsite contacts.
- Abide by Prime Selling Time (PST).
- Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities and events.
- Review meeting planner evaluations with the Director of Sales to ensure that issues receive follow-up.
- Attending staff meetings, morning meetings and other meetings as requested.
- Perform all other duties as requested.
Is this the job for me:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 4 years of progressive hotel sales experience without a college degree; or 2 years of progressive hotel sales experience with Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality or related field
- Basic mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with the public and other team members in verbal and written form
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Follow and enforce all hotel standards
