Job Title: Vice President, Operations

The Vice President, Operations has oversight for operational departments of a diverse resort complex – which includes a 453-room hotel, indoor and outdoor waterparks, ski equipment rental and lessons, parking operations, retail outlets, an arcade, and Camelback Mountain Adventures – spread across a 560-acre campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Energize and enhance a Culture of Safety within the Department and Resort to ensure a safe and secure environment for associates and guests.
  • Actively recruit, select, and retain associates for all departments through compelling associate engagement programs and practices.
  • Foster a guest-centric culture that is based on the resort’s mission to create Guests for Life by embracing the Four Keys – Warmth, Personalization, Awareness and Proactivity.
  • Develop and implement both short- and long-term strategies for efficient and effective operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives, particularly elevating guest service and increasing operating effectiveness.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost controls to achieve financial objectives of the Resort.
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to the operations leadership team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Focus on enhancing guest experiences through innovative offerings, personalized services, and efficient guest flow.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring high quality services and cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years with proven experience in hospitality management, including managing hotels, resorts and preferably multi-unit organizations. Experience with ski operations and/or waterparks is preferable.
  • Prior General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Resort Manager experience a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute long-term strategic plans for Resort Operations optimization and improvement.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making abilities to address complex Resort related challenges.

 

Next Level Duties:

  • Use coaching and team leading skills to unite and motivate associates by creating a positive, consistent and fair work environment with open communication.
  • Requires strategic planning and implementation skill set and experience.
  • Must possess a proven skill set in building and managing efficient and productive processes.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be visible and accessible to all associates and guests. Tour operating departments throughout the Resort daily.
  • Represent the Resort in the community in a positive and professional fashion consistent with KSL Resorts’ values.
  • Awareness and active participation in the practice of all safety precautions and procedures to ensure a safe atmosphere for guests and associates. Know the correct action to take in the event of an emergency and demonstrate this knowledge by acting appropriately in the event of an emergency.
  • Because of the fluctuating demands of the company’s operation, it may be necessary that each associate perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises and to promote a spirit of collaboration, teamwork and cross-training among all associates.

 

Work Conditions and Schedule:

  • Exposure to extreme temperatures and weather should be expected as work will occur outdoors.
  • Weekend and holiday availability is required as well as flexibility with work schedule.
  • During peak seasons, the schedule may require a work week schedule over 40 hours per week, including nights.
