Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced IN HOUSE Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team! Cameo College of Essential Beauty is a single campus cosmetology school located in Murray, Utah. We are family owned and operated by 2nd and 3rd generations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with a focus on accuracy, ethics and government compliance. This role is crucial for maintaining financial records, detailed payroll, preparing reports, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. The Accountant will work closely with various departments to support financial operations and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Starting pay $24-$26 per hour - ROOM TO GROW
Schedule: (start time is slightly flexible)
Tuesday through Friday: 8am-3pm OR 8am - 5pm
Closed Sunday/Monday
Insurance benefits available for 32 hour schedule.
Responsibilities
- Must know most current Quickbooks system.
- Experience with deferred revenue.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
- Perform general ledger reconciliation and maintain accurate financial records through double entry bookkeeping.
- Conduct financial auditing to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, including federal accreditation and DOE regulations.
- Prepare financial statements and reports, providing insights into financial performance and trends.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial guidance and support for budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Support public accounting initiatives by preparing necessary documentation and reports for third party auditors.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in accounting roles, with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
- Familiarity with financial auditing processes and regulatory compliance requirements (SOX).
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and double entry bookkeeping is essential.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in work output.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members across departments.
