About the Role
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about working with at-risk youth and has a strong understanding of their needs. Your primary responsibility will be to supervise and care for residents, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision of residents, including monitoring their daily activities, education, and recreational programs;
- Assign and supervise residents in daily housekeeping tasks, maintaining accountability for equipment and ensuring a safe environment;
- Implement treatment plans, discipline strategies, and intervention programs to promote positive behavior and personal growth;
- Facilitate cognitive skill groups, teamwork activities, and provide individual counseling as needed;
- Document resident behavior, incidents, and progress, maintaining accurate records for review and reporting purposes;
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure continuity of care and address any concerns or issues that may arise;
- Transport residents to off-site locations for medical appointments, educational events, or other essential activities.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, preferably an Associate's degree in a related field (e.g., criminal justice, psychology, or government);
- Experience working with at-risk youth, preferably in a residential setting;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations;
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards residents;
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database management software;
- Physical stamina to perform duties related to resident supervision, transportation, and physical restraint when necessary;
- Commitment to upholding professional standards and adhering to policies and procedures.
