Serve as a Role Model and Mentor
Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to serve as flex houseparents, providing guidance and support to students from pre-K through 12th grade. As a flex houseparent, you will reside in an on-campus student home, leading a group of approximately 8-12 students.
This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to set boundaries and discipline students when necessary. You will also need to demonstrate a high level of integrity and responsibility, as you will be serving as a role model and mentor to our students.
Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and support to students in their academic, emotional, and social development
- Lead daily devotions and take students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services
- Assist with daily tasks and activities, such as cooking, cleaning, and errands
- Cultivate positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff
Requirements:
- Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings
- Couples must be legally married for at least two years and both spouses should be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
