SEASONAL CUSTODIAN MAINTENANCE WORKER
HOURLY: $ 11.00
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The overall purpose and general responsibility
Under supervision of the Maintenance Foreman, will perform specific functions of building custodianship. This position involves handling hazardous chemicals and manual labor tasks. Is a non-supervisory position.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: General point of contact
Reports and correlates projects with Maintenance Foreman,
Communicates with the public, park guests, concessionaires, office clerks and other co-workers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The fundamental duties and tasks which define the job
- Performs building and grounds maintenance which includes emptying trash cans, trash removal, litter pick-up parking lot and pavilions,
- Performs daily cleaning of park restrooms,
- Sweeping and washing down sidewalks and parking areas, removing sand from pavilions areas and walkways,
- Insures restrooms are stocked with necessary cleansers and toiletries,
- Performs good housekeeping tasks such as cleaning windows, wiping down dirty surfaces on walls and counters, mop and waxes floors,
- Scrub tables and all railings around pavilions,
- Removes sand from the restrooms and showers at the pavilion,
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The requirements necessary to fulfill the job expectations
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate is preferred.
Must have experience in custodianship and must enjoy working with the public.
Licenses and/or Certifications:
Valid State of Texas Driver's License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to follow oral instructions. Must be able to perform strenuous work in an outdoor setting. Ability to communicate effectively, both in both English and Spanish. Must be able to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with other employees.
Physical Demands:
Physical requirements may include lifting /carrying up to 50 lbs. Subject to handling, sitting walking, standing, bending, reaching and twisting to perform the essential job functions.
Working Condition: (describe working environment and other conditions of employment.)
Working conditions are primarily outdoors. Will be required to drive county owned vehicles and other equipment as needed. Weekend, Holiday, and evening work required.
