Cameron House is a 150 year old institution that is deeply woven into San Francisco history and rooted in faith-based outreach and support. We proudly hold the honor of serving the evolving needs of the San Francisco Chinese community. Cameron House is a hub of year-round programs and services. These programs include our heritage youth school, adult ESL and computer classes, counseling services in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, domestic violence intervention, and case management for accessing all of the San Francisco area community resources available for low to moderate income individuals and families. We empower community members to build strength and resilience through family-centered programs, and help people learn, heal, and thrive.
Job Summary
Reports to the Chief of Advancement and works as a member of the Advancement department. Responsibilities include : working closely with key stakeholders to coordinate the execution of communications that broaden awareness and increase visibility of programs and priorities across audiences; ensuring that community outreach efforts reflect the organization's values; and supporting fundraising efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing and Communications
- Work closely with the Senior Director of Advancement, Chief Executive Officer, staff, volunteers, and alumni to effectively coordinate communications
Develop a marketing and communications plan that strategically includes short- and long-term goals for reaching a broader base of donors
Design, create and distribute direct mail, appeals, media / press kits, brochures, newsletters, and other promotional materials
Fundraising
Core Competencies
Familiarity with the challenges of the Chinese communities as well as the special issues facing women and children exposed to domestic violence, and / or youth development programs
Bilingual / Biliterate in English and Cantonese is a plus!
Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers and / or staff
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace
Capable of solving problems with sound judgment and practical approaches - solution-oriented

Compensation
As a financial steward of public funds, Cameron House is committed to pay equity and transparency. Cameron House offers competitive base salaries aligned with the market midpoint for not-for-profit organizations of similar size. To maintain this commitment, Cameron House does not negotiate salary offers; instead, each offer is carefully calculated using benchmarking data. This is an nonexempt (hourly) role with a pay range of $27.52 -$33.64 an hour.
