QUALIFICATIONS
- High School graduate.
- Typing/keyboard knowledge.
- Clerical skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Data entry skills.
- Customer service skills.
- Excellent phone skills.
JOB SUMMARY - Ensures that a quality and timely admission process is provided for patients, and that complete and accurate information is gathered from patients. Performs various admitting and cashiering functions. Promotes excellent customer service to all patients, guests, and hospital staff.

- Interviews/registers all patients upon admission. Confirms patient demographics.
- Obtains signature and initials on consent forms.
- Reviews all procedures, emails and updates as needed.
- Distributes paperwork to appropriate departments.
- Maintains accountability for same day accounts.
- Assists/transports patients and guests to needed departments or floors.
- Collects patient related payments/deductibles and co-pays.
- Balances cash drawer at the beginning and end of shift and prepares preliminary deposit reconciliation.
- Reviews and corrects previous day's work.
- Maintains patient files.
- Verify all workers' compensation claims.
- Pages Hospice/Home Health Care nurses as needed after hours.
- Assists Patient Representatives with various duties as needed.
- Prepares for next shift.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Chief Financial Officer or Patient Access Director.
- Performs scanning duties.
- Visits inpatients daily for information/signatures not received upon admission.
- Verifies patient status for admission with utilization review/house supervisor.
- Completes “Dr Not on File” from for physicians not in the system.
- Verifies next day’s pre-registration schedule.
- Performs bedside registration in Emergency Room department.
- Verifies eligibility per Recondo and Web Interchange.
- Performs status changes on accounts.
- Completes designated daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and is alert to cleaning needs of the area.
- Completes annual education requirements.
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times
- Complies with all organizational policies and procedures and familiar with hospital emergency plans.
- Performs similar and related duties as required.
