Donor Relations Manager Position

The Donor Relations Manager is a key member of the Development team, supporting the mission of Camp Boggy Creek through communication and strategic support. Additionally, this position supports Camp Boggy Creek by cultivating relationships with stakeholders at various levels. This role focuses on community engagement, reporting (donors and prospect data), and communication initiatives that advance donor stewardship and organizational goals.
Job Tasks/Responsibilities:
Community Engagement and Donor Cultivation
- Represent the organization by delivering engaging presentations to groups, clubs, and community organizations across Central Florida.
- Host tours of the camp facility for donors, prospects, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Create and implement strategies in collaboration with the Development staff for identifying, prospecting, and building relationships. .
- Support prospect communication strategies to enhance engagement and conversion efforts.
- Support development staff with prospect research via Raisers Edge and internet search engines
Gift-in-Kind Coordination
- Collaborate with all departments to identify and address Gift-in-Kind (GIK) needs.
- Develop a strategic plan in partnership with the development team to secure necessary GIK support.
Reporting and Strategic Impact
- Lead reporting initiatives to monitor and communicate Development KPIs to the CEO, CDO, and Board of Directors.
- Develop and deliver detailed reports that inform strategic decisions for donor relations and fundraising efforts.
Donor Communications:
- Organize and execute all donor and prospect mailings, including stewardship mailings, annual fund direct mail campaigns, and special reports.
- Collaborate closely with the CEO, CDO, and marketing teams to align messaging and content strategies.
Event Support
- Assist the Event Director in planning and executing fundraising and stewardship events.
- Provide on-site support during events to ensure a seamless donor experience.
Team Collaboration
- Maintain a clear understanding of team goals and provide input and support as needed.
- Actively contribute to a collaborative team environment, working cross-functionally to achieve organizational objectives.
- Stay abreast of industry trends to integrate best practices into daily work.
- Continually seek an up-to-date understanding of initiatives and programs at CBC.
- Attend scheduled, in-person all-staff meetings, major Camp events, and one family retreat weekend annually.
- Participate with other development initiatives as assigned and available.

Required Competencies and Skills
- Communication Skills: Clear, concise, and professional written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable with public speaking.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is a plus.
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Reporting Expertise: Demonstrated competency in reporting and analyzing data to inform strategic impact.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with five or more years of demonstrated non-profit experience; preferably in major gift fundraising and/or event planning in their designated region.

- Strategic and creative thinker, proactive, entrepreneurial, driven, highly organized, demonstrated hands-on experience with proven ability to meet goals and deadlines with significant impact to the organization’s goals.
- Demonstrated strong proficiency in written communications and presentation skills.

- Strong skills in diplomacy, maintaining confidentiality, customer service, and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong computer skills including experience with donor databases, Blackbaud/NXT/Raisers Edge preferred.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
Physical Essential Functions
- The role is primarily sedentary with long periods of sitting required. In addition, employee will be expected to perform intermittent physical activity, including, but not limited to, bending and reaching.
- Work in the camp setting requires exposure to the outdoors, including occasional camp tours. The employee must occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- The employee must possess the physical strength and endurance required to perform the job up to standard throughout the duration of employment while remaining physically, emotionally, and intellectually safe.
Emotional/Social Essential Functions
- The employee will be expected to have flexibility to occasionally work weekends and evenings as needed to support events and camp-wide activities/initiatives.
- The employee will be expected to manage their personal life to ensure capability of performing job up to standard. The employee is required to communicate with, work with, and provide instruction and information to a variety of Camp staff and stakeholders, including camper families, volunteers, and donors.
- The employee must possess the mental and emotional strength and endurance to perform the job up to standard throughout the duration of employment while promoting the values of kindness, joyfulness, collaboration, and inclusiveness
