Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Camp Director to lead our summer camp program. The Camp Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of camp operations, ensuring a safe, engaging, and fun environment for campers. This role requires strong leadership skills, conflict resolution skills, the ability to educate and inspire both staff and students, and a commitment to fostering a positive camp culture.
Responsibilities
- Supervise camp staff, providing training, support, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers by enforcing safety protocols and guidelines.
- Plan and coordinate daily activities with counselors, including recreational and team-building exercises.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and community members regarding camp activities and camper progress.
- Manage administrative tasks such as budgeting, scheduling, and record keeping.
- Collaborate with local organizations to enhance the camp experience through partnerships and resources.
- Evaluate program effectiveness through feedback from campers and staff to continually improve the camp experience.
Requirements
- Teacher or Education Major is preferred.
- Experience working with students in an educational or recreational setting is essential.
- Previous experience in education, teaching, or administration is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse group of individuals.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, campers, and parents to create a positive environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in planning activities and managing schedules.
- A passion for education and youth development is essential.
This is an overnight camp! Therefore, you must be able to relocate to Camp Gray Rock for the duration of summer camp (both for girls and boys weeks):
Girls Weeks: June 14 - July 5
Boys Weeks: July 5 - July 26
(possibility of added training days)
Weekly salary plus lodging and 3 meals a day!
