Salary Range: $1050/week for onsite camp work
Pay Day: Friday/weekly
***NOTE: The Camp Director is required to take on the remote role of Pre-Season Administrator, a separate hourly position.***

Director Qualifications:
- Must be at least 25 years old or have a bachelor’s degree to comply with the NYS Department of Health regulations.
- Experience leading/supervising groups of children and/or teens in a recreational or school setting.
- Driver’s License.
- First Aid Certification (must have by staff training week).
- Current certification in CPR/AED.
- Pass a pre-employment background investigation.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of campers and staff, adhering to camp policies and Cayuga County/New York State Health Department regulations.
- Supervise all staff, including Program Director, Cook, Health Director, Waterfront Director, counselors, and others.
- Reside at camp during staff training and the camping program.
- Lead staff training and oversee daily camp activities alongside key staff.
- Coordinate check-ins for both resident and day campers, ensuring all required documentation is complete.
- Communicate regularly with key personnel to address concerns and maintain smooth operations.
- Foster a positive camp culture emphasizing safety, cooperation, and community.
- Manage the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program.
- Conduct formal and informal staff evaluations and prepare weekly reports for the Camping Committee.
- Organize end-of-season clean-up and ensure facilities are safe, clean, and in good repair.
- Embrace diversity and promote inclusion in all camp interactions.
- Fulfill the contract for one week of staff training and five weeks of camp programming.
- The Director must complete 1 week of staff training and the 5 full weeks of children’s camp programming.
- The Director must complete pre-season administrative work, which will be compensated hourly as required by New York State summer camp regulations. This hourly role is separate from the summer camp director salary. However, this role is also a function of the camp director.
**Children’s Camp Schedule:**
- Staff Training: June 29 – July 5
- Camp Season:
- Week 1: Mon, July 7 – Friday, July 11 (day camp ONLY)Week 2: Mon, July 14 – Friday, July 18 (day camp ONLY)Week 3: Sun, July 20 – Friday, July 25 (day and overnight camp - begins Sunday afternoon)Week 4: Sun, July 27 – Friday, Aug 1 (day and overnight camp - begins Sunday afternoon)Week 5: Sun, Aug 3 – Friday, Aug 8 (day and overnight camp - begins Sunday afternoon)
- Staff Wrap-Up: Saturday, August 9

Camp Gregory is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rustic summer camp located on the eastern shore of Cayuga Lake. Camp Gregory has been serving the children and residents of Central New York since 1941, by providing meaningful opportunities for individuals to connect with nature and the beauty of the Finger Lakes; cultivating a true appreciation of the region. In developing this appreciation, we hope to create future stewards of the environment, the region, and all the surrounding communities. We provide summer camp programming for children K – 10th grade that focuses on critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and personal development, all while utilizing our natural setting as a living classroom.
