What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Annual Giving position at Camp Holiday Trails?
Camp Holiday Trails (CHT), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit camp for children with medical needs, works year-round in the Mid-Atlantic region and seeks an experienced and driven Director of Annual Giving. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the Director of Annual Giving will lead one large special event (Hope Grows Celebration) and serve as contact for community-led smaller events, expand all annual mailings, and work closely with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator and Programs team. With the Director of Philanthropy, you will find inspiration in growing our Annual Fund (approximately $700K annually and will need to surpass $1.5M to meet our 3-year vision of doubling the number of campers attending CHT from c. 300 to 600.) The ideal candidate must have a passion for the mission, a history of successful fundraising, and experience with CRMs (we use Bloomerang and DonorSearch) and donor retention and engagement. The individual must be outgoing, creative, goal-oriented, and organized along with being comfortable in a small, nonprofit team environment.
Responsibilities
Focus areas are Spring Appeal and Fall Impact report, and other segmented mailings:
● Work with Marketing and Communications Coordinator on design and mailing of spring appeal and fall impact
report, and other segmented mailings.
● Develop skill and confidence with our CRM (Bloomerang) and work with our Office Manager (who handles entry
and acknowledgements.)
● Work with staff, community partners and sponsors on annual Hope Grows Celebration (confirmed for May 11,
2025 at King Family Vineyards.)
● Create a successful and scalable donor conversion plan.
● Create a successful and scalable donor retention plan.
● Actively find connections and reach out to build new relationships with potential donors.
● Stay connected with CHT programs and outreach so that the story of CHT and its impact on campers, siblings
and parents can stay fresh and be effectively communicated to donors.
● Serve on the Funds Committee, to support leveraging of contacts and pursue annual goals.
● Support future Capital Campaigns for additional Building and Campership Funds
Qualifications
● Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated success managing Annual Funds/Campaigns including mailings and events management, or significant volunteer experience in an organization similar to CHT.
● History of setting and achieving aggressive fundraising goals.
● Ability to articulate CHT’s mission and translate it into the need for support.
● Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
