Science Teacher – Environmental Summer Camp
Camp Live Oak is seeking an experienced Science Teacher to lead engaging, hands-on science activities for campers ages 5-13 in an outdoor camp setting. This is a seasonal position with hours varying based on program schedules, including 3-4 days per week during the summer, one week for Fall Camp, two weeks for Winter Camp, 1-2 weeks for Spring Camp, and occasional weekend programs when school is out.

Our campers participate in exciting activities such as canoeing, archery, hiking, fishing, swimming, paddleboarding, beach exploration, guest speaker programs, environmental conservation projects, and much more!
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and facilitate hands-on science activities that align with Camp Live Oak’s weekly themes and encourage curiosity, exploration, and discovery.
- Create Lesson Plans for activities for age appropriateness ; due 2 weeks prior to camp seasons.
- Lead engaging lessons in natural, biological, marine, and environmental sciences, making learning fun and interactive.
- Encourage environmental stewardship by teaching campers about conservation, sustainability, and local ecosystems.
- Oversee and maintain science materials and supply inventory, ensuring activities are well-prepared and within budget.
- Collaborate with camp staff to create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that fosters a love for science and nature.
- Assist in other camp activities when needed, helping to maintain a positive and engaging camp culture.
