Camp LOL Theatre at the SOL Children's Theatre is seeking a Summer Camp Director.
Job Summary
The Camp Director is responsible for the overall management and operation of the camp, ensuring a safe, engaging, and educational environment for all campers. This role requires strong leadership skills, a passion for education, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and students. The Camp Director will develop programs that promote learning and personal growth while fostering a positive camp culture.
Duties
- Oversee daily camp operations, including scheduling activities and managing staff.
- Develop and implement educational programs that align with the camp's mission.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe environment for all participants.
- Provide leadership and support to camp staff, facilitating training and professional development opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with parents, campers, and staff regarding schedules, activities, and any concerns.
- Monitor camper progress and well-being, addressing any issues promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with local organizations to enhance program offerings and community engagement.
- Evaluate program effectiveness through feedback from campers and staff to continuously improve the camp experience.
Experience
- A background and education in theatre and teaching is preferred.
- Proven experience working with students in an educational or recreational setting.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with diverse groups of people.
- A passion for educating youth and fostering a supportive learning environment is essential.
